At the core of this candle, the sweetness of apple and berries combines with green leaves. Pecan and cedar base notes enhance the natural outdoor quality, while balancing the fruit and spice notes. The earthiness of this scent is enhanced by an infusion of cinnamon leaf, patchouli, cedarwood, vetiver, and sandalwood essential oils. This Day of the Dead candle is topped with dried Marigold/Calendula flower petals.

Purpose of Day of the Dead:
Dia de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead is a day to honor the past and celebrate life... It is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, and it coincides with both Indigenous and Catholic celebrations (All Saints Day and All Souls’ Day). It is said that on November 1st the children who have passed away come back to visit and celebrate as angelitos (angels) and on November 2nd, it is the adults (difuntos) to visit and celebrate.
Families create ofrendas (offerings) to honor their departed family members. These altars are decorated with Mexican marigold flowers (cempasúchil), papel picado, sugar skulls, candles, copal (incense), photos of the departed ones, favorite foods and drinks.
On these days we remember, celebrate, honor and pray for our loved ones and ancestors. Prayers for all those who have recently passed and/or who are grieving the passing of a loved one in the past. May we never forget our loved ones, light a candle and say a little prayer for them. Celebrate the lives and memories of your loved ones and ancestors!
